Duration: 2024 to 2025

Funded by: Minority Rights Group International

Project areas: Kathmandu

Brief about the project

DDAN implemented projects to advance the rights, participation, and organizational capacity of Dalits with disabilities through an intersectional human rights approach. The initiatives promoted collaboration among Dalit organizations, disability rights organizations, and government stakeholders while strengthening evidence-based advocacy through sensitization workshops, project inception meetings, and training on public budget monitoring.

In 2025, the Organizational Strengthening and Capacity Building Project further enhanced DDAN’s institutional sustainability through intersectionality training on caste, disability, and gender, organizational policy review, and strategic planning. These efforts strengthened DDAN’s governance, advocacy capacity, and leadership to advance the rights and inclusion of Dalits with disabilities in Nepal.
